About The Wrong Order
The Wrong Order is a free, browser-based satirical game about the everyday chaos of food delivery — and, more specifically, about what happens when your order goes wrong and you have to fight for a refund. It is a work of fiction. No real food is sold, no real delivery takes place, and no real money changes hands. Everything from the restaurants to the riders to the "customer support" agents is invented for the game.
The idea started from a simple, universal frustration: the modern ritual of ordering food, watching a little icon crawl across a map, and then discovering the bag is missing an item, the food is cold, or the whole order belongs to someone else entirely. What follows — the chat with support, the canned apologies, the escalation — is a small drama millions of people live through every week. The Wrong Order turns that drama into a game you can actually win.
How the game works, in short
You browse a menu, place an order, and track it in real time. Sometimes the order arrives perfectly. Often, though, something is wrong — it is late, it is spilled, an item is missing, or it is simply the wrong order. When that happens, you open a dispute. You state your case to a fictional Support agent who may stonewall, deflect, or offer a token concession. If you are not satisfied, you can escalate to an independent Board that weighs the evidence and delivers a verdict. Winning a well-argued case earns you in-game tokens and a place on your record.
Why we built it
Most games reward reflexes. This one rewards persistence, evidence, and knowing your rights as a (fictional) customer. It is a light-hearted way to practise the very real skill of holding a service accountable — reading the fine print, citing what actually happened, and refusing to accept a fob-off. It is also, we hope, genuinely funny: the support scripts, the surge-priced "sorry" coupons, and the ghost mascot who reacts to every twist are all part of the joke.
Is it really "any location on Earth"?
Yes. The menus are generated from your chosen location, so ordering from Tokyo brings up mostly Japanese food, Rome leans Italian, and Hyderabad serves biryani — with a realistic sprinkle of world cuisines everywhere, because real cities have them too. Pick somewhere remote and the game leans into it: a research-station mess in Antarctica, a canoe delivery deep in the Amazon, a camel caravan across the desert. It is all fictional, and it respects local customs — for example, menus in different regions reflect common dietary norms.
A note on fairness and safety
The Wrong Order is designed to be friendly and age-appropriate. It does not involve gambling, it cannot cost you real money, and the "tokens" you earn have no cash value. If you have questions, our FAQ covers the common ones, and you can always reach us on the Contact page.
