Frequently asked questions
Is The Wrong Order a real food-delivery service?
No. It is a fictional game. You cannot order real food through it, no delivery ever happens, and no real money is involved. The restaurants, riders, and support agents are all invented for the game.
Is the food or are the restaurants real?
The dish names and cuisines are drawn from a large library of real-world foods so the menus feel authentic, but the individual restaurants are generated by the game and are not real businesses. Any resemblance to a real restaurant name is coincidental.
Can I lose real money or is this gambling?
No. There is no gambling and nothing to buy to play. The "tokens" you earn are a score with no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money or prizes.
Do I need an account?
No account is needed for your first 3 orders — you can start playing right away. To keep playing after that, you sign in (it is free, using your email or Google), which also saves your record — your wins, tokens, and order history — across devices. Registered players can also suggest dishes we are missing.
How do disputes work?
When an order arrives wrong, you can complain to a fictional Support agent and, if you are not satisfied, escalate to an independent Board. The Board weighs your evidence and issues a verdict. It is a playful simulation of how real consumer complaints and escalations work.
Why does the menu change depending on where I am?
Menus are generated from your chosen location so the food feels local — Japanese in Tokyo, Italian in Rome, Indian in Hyderabad — with a realistic mix of world cuisines everywhere. Remote spots get themed novelty menus for fun.
Do the menus respect dietary and cultural norms?
Yes. The generated menus reflect common regional dietary customs, and you can also set a personal preference (for example vegetarian) that applies wherever you order.
Is it suitable for all ages?
The game is light-hearted and designed to be age-appropriate. It contains no gambling and no purchases.
